Today was a California ocean drive ....north up the coast..
lots of photos so sit back and enjoy the drive and the hikes!!

Very interesting stop...
...they had a volunteer at the site and she told me a little about the sea lions...
First of all the ones you see on the beach are all babies born from early December to late January..
.....there a couple of males, the big ones, they normally weigh 5000 pounds but they have been here since November and they do not eat so have lost over 2000 pounds.
The females give birth and a month later leave never to see their off spring again.
In about one month the babies will take to the water for the first time and begin their lives hopefully...the success rate is about 50%.
A new meaning to the term bird watching!!!
