Friday 24 th DECEMBER 2021..driving day!!

I left San Miguel at 6am this morning and my amazing car got me to McAllen Texas later in the day with no issues, an easy drive, an easy border crossing but trying to get my booster shot, not so easy.
I was informed that Walgreens give the booster without an appointment but that is not the case of course the holidays make it more confusing but many  thanks to my good friends Teri and Mike they were able to get me an appointment at Sam’s Club on the 28th……I did not want to stay that long but obviously i will and drive home the next day.I am in an hotel tonight and go to my Airbnb tomorrow afternoon…….

Thursday 23 rd December 2021….Preparations!!

For some reason unable to down load any of my photos!!

I enjoyed my tennis this morning and then

I spent the rest of the day sorting stuff and getting ready for my mini road trip.

I am leaving tomorrow morning and driving to McAllen Texas mainly to get my booster shot.

I have not decided if I will do the drive in one day see how I feel I do not want to hurt my knee again…..

Have  a small apartment booked in McAllen for three nights so will do some shopping, go to South Padre Island walk the beach and relax.

These are some photos of my elves inflating 550 soccer balls…..good job guys!!

Then I had a school principal come and pick up her gifts for the children for Three kings Day January 6 th..see the huge piñata that was donated to me???

Next was a drive out to one of the schools to deliver more gifts and see the knitted hats..friends have knitted 300 hats for the kids!!!

Finally a sunset hike to Jalpa one of my favorite hikes…

Sadly because of the holidays and Covid it appears that Andy’s service will not be to the middle of January.

Wednesday 22 nd December 2021……a tribute!!

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing on Sunday evening of Janet and Malc’s youngest son Andrew, Andy!!

Andy suffered a series of massive strokes and despite the exceptional care of the hospital staff he was not able to survive.

He was 46 years old and you could not find a man with a bigger heart and a kind smile.

For my tribute to him I would love for you all to go to You tube and listen to Vince Gill sing Go rest high on that mountain!!

I am saddened that because of Covid I am unable to be with my family at this time but we all have a strong family bond and know we are all together celebrating our beloved Andy!!

Wednesday 8th December 2021….a regular day!!

This morning I went out to the three families that live near to Los Rodriguez 

I was so happy to take out winter jackets for the kids that a very kind man had donated……

They always are so grateful for anything we are able to give them and also today I was able to distribute many bags of food.

My new phone has such a great camera I love the detail on this shot …

And then the kids at home…

Frida is now back home so we had a great walk after I won yet again at poker, 100 pesos!!

Tu 7 th DECEMBER 2021…..busy day!!

Reyes and I delivered 3 Eco friendly stoves and twenty boxes of food to the village Morelos yesterday.

I just love to see the new stoves next to the barrels they were using before for cooking.

As always we are always welcomed and thanked and the blessings and joys of seeing the smiles makes everything so worthwhile.

I would also like to thank the Computer Doctor, Thomas, he is a very caring man and he asked for donations on the Civil list for Susan, the owner of the list and also for my Three kings toy drive and for every donation Thomas matched the amount.

This morning I picked up a wonderful cash donation from Thomas…..so thank you everyone .

Sunday 5 th DECEMBER 2021….the day is getting nearer!!

This morning along with my lovely friends, Teri and Mike and Gregg we met Moses and his wife in the parking lot of the supermarket!!

Moses delivered 550 hand made colourful soccer balls, we transferred them to our cars and then have them stored in Diane’s studio until I get a crew ready to inflate them!!

A job well done thanks for all the help!!

Scout and Negrita seem fine and we had a great hike this morning….

Friday 3 rd December 2021…..a little respite!!

Sorry I have been remiss in my blog writing still working on getting the other two dogs checked out and today I think it is going to be ok for both Scoutie  and Negrita when Gracie comes back they will need to have a few changes to their lifestyle….

Somehow on my new phone photos from years ago pop up…this one is the blessings of the horses from six years ago..never seen anything like it before.

Thank you for the many calls and kind emails I have received over the loss of Einstein…..

I spent the majority of this day on the road between vets and offices making sure that the two other dogs, Scout and Negrita are ok and they are!!

I think I have deserved a long soak in the tub so that is where I am heading!!

Monday 29 th November 2021..tragic day!!!

I think today I had to do something that ranks as one of the hardest  things in my life…..

My buddy Einstein had to be sent into doggie heaven…….he just had some serious medical issues which were not operable and Gracie made the decision which obviously was so hard for her but even more so because she is in Florida at the moment.

So I went and said farewell to him he was such a loving and easy going dog..

Rest In Peace Einstein!!!

Saturday 27 th November 2021….just a stroll down town!,

Saturday mornings always start with two hours of great tennis and this morning was no exception…….the skies were clear, the sun was out, the banter was in top form and even an occasional good shot!!

Came home and took the dogs for a nice long walk around the hood and then went into centro to see the sights and practice my new iPhone camera….

Now it is time to watch a pre recorded soccer game from England!!
