Got lucky and the rain stayed away and he’d two great hours on the tennis court this morning.....

Afterwards drove the scooter to Carolyn and Parker’s house where they are kindly letting me keep her in their garage!!

They live in this beautiful gated community!!!

I then walked to where Little Bluey is parked and brought her back to my apartment...cleaned her up a little bit and got some things packed!

Then watched the final rounds of the Open Golf from Ireland!!!

This weekend in San Miguel is the GIFF

The GIFF – Guanajuato International Film Festival is positioned as the most important platform for young filmmakers in Latin America. Since 1998 in San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato Capital, the GIFF offers an extensive program of screenings, workshops, conferences and concerts at no cost to the audience. The event is also an essential destination for professionals in the international film industry as they find a variety of networking opportunities.

Join us from July 20 to 29 in San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato Capital, for the GIFF 2018 and be part of this celebration of cinema. More movies please!

We are a laboratory of ideas that encourages a healthy and stimulating relationship among filmmakers, all of whom find in the GIFF a sense of belonging, an environment of community and collaboration.

For the GIFF, it is essential that film projects materialize. Therefore, we encourage the development of film scripts, and other film and audiovisual projects, so that in the short term they obtain the necessary financial support from different instances.

The objective, besides the promotion and diffusion of the cinema of Mexico and the rest of the world, is to strengthen the film industry through mechanisms that facilitate production. With this impulse we have achieved, through our programs, the financing of 29 feature films.

Likewise, year after year we honor those who have contributed outstandingly in the construction of our cinematography, making possible the meeting of great national and international figures with our creators and the general public.

and there are free movies at many locations through out town and at 5 pm Gracie picked me up and we went to see Birth War which was an excellent documentary about midwifes....doctors and how the indigenous women prefer having their babies at home...very thought provoking!!

Back home around 8 pm for my final check list!!

I may or may not have Internet at my hotel tomorrow night in Jimenez in the state of Chihuahua....so stay tuned!!!

The documentary movie "Birth War" sounds interesting; did it have subtitles? What peaked my interest is that my older sister and brother (10 and 8 years my senior, respectively) were delivered by midwives on the family farm in 1936 and 1938, respectively. As Mom's and Dad's third child, I was their first child born in a hospital and delivered by a doctor. Even Mom and Dad were born on the family farm delivered by midwives in 1918 and 1912, respectively. In those days, the doctors and hospitals were too far away from the farms. As years went on, expensive liability insurance or malpractice insurance premiums were required to be paid by midwives and doctors alike. Therefore, midwivery sort of faded away. But clinics eventually opened up in rural areas and staffed with medical personnel employed by Bulloch County about 1956 to help the situation.

Have a good trip and say hello to Linda and Heather for me.
