Wednesday 2nd May 2018.....Day 28!!!

May 2 nd 1980 was the day I got married in a garden ceremony in the back yard of Connie’s parents home in Bermuda...we had dated a while and I had served ten years in the Police force and  Connie had a brother that lived outside  of Edmonton Alberta, Canada and he had sponsored us to come and live and work for him.

I was Connie’s third husband and she had two daughters aged 12 and 14 years of age...the day after we got married we left to emigrate to a new life in πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

The marriage was a mistake and lasted a short time till I divorced her about a year later.

I do not talk about this  often but it is a part of my life and I think it changed the course of my life in a good way.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

We had a nice buffet style breakfast this morning and then took a taxi back to the bus station.....this was a special stop and to see one of the white villages up close was a treat.

It was just under two hours on the bus to Ronda.....and again another great bus ride with good πŸ’Ί  but check out the photos taken through the bus window and again so cheap on the buses only 10 Euros πŸ’Ά

It was only a short walk from the bus station tothe the air bnb where we are staying two nights...

A really beautiful two bedroomed condo with a nice balcony..

and after getting settled in we started to explore this incredible town perched on the top of an amazing gorge.  Enjoy the photos...

I do believe this is the first or oldest bull ring in Spain and the sport originated here..

I think I might have a ham sandwich for lunch!!

Looks like a wonderful town and with a fabulous apartment all is well....

We have already planned our day tomorrow Gracie is going to go shopping in the morning then have lunch and wine and tapas in one of the restaurants ove looking the gorge whilst I put on my my gear and go hiking in up and down and around the gorge!!!

I'm so happy to see that you and Gracie made it to Ronda. Isn't it gorgeous? Enjoy all your exploring. There are so many pueblos blancos to enjoy in that area! I look forward to your pictures.

Locals, I believe, call Ronda the "City of Dreams." Such a beautiful Puebla. Also, in the outlying areas, ranchers use to raise Andalusia (may be misspelled) horses; such beautiful horses. When the financial situation in Spain started going south around 2013, some of these ranchers could not afford to feed and keep them, so they either sold or destroyed them. I hope you get to see some of those beautiful horses which may have survived, maybe see them in pastures while you are traveling on the bus.

You have to know that what you may think was a bad thing may have made it possible to create better lives for both you and Connie; it takes a lot of courage to make the change. You never know, since time has passed, she may thank you today. I have relatives who have stayed friends after they split because they married too young.
