Tuesday 22nd May 2018...Day 46!!!!

It was an early morning start and we were on the road by 5.50am and it was just over two hour drive to Manchester airport where around noon we took the Air Malta flight saying good bye to the green green grass of England....

And the English Channel

The three flight was easy and the landing great and this tour which Malc arranged and researched for is with a tour company and he selected a two bedroom apartment hotel....we were met at the airport by a tour representative and escorted to the minion bus and driven to our hotel....a few shots along the way....

The apartment turned out to be three bedrooms and is very lovely in a small family run hotel....

Three beds in my room...

The roof top pool and view

The facilities are really good and it is close to the centre of the small town....

After we got settled in we walked into the centre and Janet and Malc treated me to my birthday dinner which was lovely thank you both!!!

I have had a wonderful birthday thanks for all the good wishes sent to me via e mail and also spec8al for me to be with my family but I must admit it was not easy for me something about turning and decade got to me...but I know I am very blessed and thankful and tomorrow will be the start of another year for me...

When we all come holiday together the later part of the evening is taken up with Scrabble....if anyone knows the Pearson boys they know we take our games and sports very seriously but we were both shot down tonight with Janet taking the first victory!!!  Well done....

First impressions are that it is a lovely island but it does seem all the buildings and houses are of the same colour dusty whiteish grey...we will get a chance to explore over the next week and we are all looking forward to a fabulous holiday!!!

I know you will have a marvelous time with Janet and Malc. At first blush from your photos, as to vibrant color, Malta is not Spain or Mexico; color lives in Spain and Mexico's souls.

Happy Birthday Les, youmade it another decade! Maybe it is something about the "sun drenched" Mediterranean that keeps those colours muted. Come up when you get back to Nanaimo and we will have a feed of fish and chips!
