Friday 25th May 2018... a glorious day out!!

Again another wonderful sunny day and today was to be a touring day of the small island of Gozo .

Steeped in myth, Gozo is thought to be the legendary Calypso's isle of Homer's Odyssey - a peaceful, mystical backwater. Baroque churches and old stone farmhouses dot the countryside. Gozo's rugged landscape and spectacular coastline await exploration with some of the Mediterranean's best dive sites.

The island also comes complete with historical sites, forts and amazing panoramas, as well as one of the archipelago's best-preserved prehistoric temples, Ġgantija.

Gozo also possesses a nightlife and cultural calendar all of its own, with some great dining out.

This was Malc’s tour he had done all the planning..I was to do all the driving and Janet was to do all the 😎 relaxing!!!

We left the apartment and drove about 10 km to the ferry terminal where we drove on the ferry for the short journey across the bay....views of Gozo from the water...

Our first stop was this lovely church

we were later to find out for such a small island there are over 300 churches....this was a really nice one well kept and beautiful inside.

Just be glad you are doing bathe Pearson tour and not this one!!

The roads were narrow and the countryside was quite special...

We visited the big central town of Victoria or using the Arabic name Robat...we walked all around the citadel great views...

More small villages where they must have been having their siestas no one around.

The next stop was interesting it was the former home of the Azure window...

I think this is where it stood before it collapsed into the sea in 2017!!

Beautiful and majestic cliffs!!

Then it was down this very tiny road along the ocean and salt pans...

Never quite seen anything like these before...

I think my high light this small inlet town which so reminded me of the villages of Cinqe Terre in Italy which we visited five years ago...

I walked up over the cliffs and anybody you know in this shot?

Yes J & M eating their crisps!,,

This wonderful church where miracles and voices were heard many years ago..

More lovely bays

and finally back to the ferry terminal and home by 6 pm...we all agreed it was a really wonderful day and thanks Malc great organization skills.

It was my turn to get dinner and we seem to go to the same restaurant each night..we all had different meals and plentiful and delicious.

Sunset shots after dinner..

So now to Scrabble.....

J & M have been married over fifty years now but I ask you is that reason enough for them to combine and make Scrabble Team sport?

Janet was feeling bad that Molly had not won a game and had his photo on the blog so she helped a little hence the reason they both appear below.......👍👍

Yashi Kochi!!
