Thursday 12 th August 2021.....slow day!!

Apparently today is Elephant day!!!

Today, let’s celebrate elephants and what their presence brings to this world.  Beyond their intelligence, power, demonstration of emotions and deep familial bonds, their existence maintains ecosystems that ultimately benefits the overall health of the planet.  There is a mutual dependency between us and nature. There is no way around it, we inextricably rely on each other and nature in ways we don’t even realize or fully understand.

According to environmental activist, Paul Watson, we will lose more plants and animals between 2000 and 2065 than we’ve lost in the last 65 million years.

I urge all of us and our governments to find solutions to protect and co-exist with vulnerable elephant populations.  We are all connected to each other like a giant invisible web and each of us is integral to life on earth.

I had a slow but good morning just resting and reading but I did sort out the thirty pairs of new shoes that a wonderful couple donated for the kids in the village....

Lynn and Reyes are going to take and deliver the shoes on Saturday unfortunately I will not able to go with my knee it would be too much getting in and out of the vehicle but I know they will take lots of photos!!

One of the things I like to do once in a while is make a cuppa and sit down and pick a month of any year and read my blog...it surprises me that I did some of the things I did...today I found this photo and I remember taking the shot..such a cutie!!!

I went to my physio this afternoon for the first of a couple of weeks of sessions.......the young man did such a good job after my surgery and I was there for over an hour and he did a full examination, some massage and electric massage and he taped my knee before I left...

the swelling I think is going down very slowly and I am hoping with these treatments, the medications and resting by the end of the month I should be well on the road to recovery!!

Leave you with this....

Constantly being broke and stuck in an unhappy marriage, a young husband decided to solve both problems by taking out a large insurance policy on his wife, with himself as the beneficiary, and then arranging to have her killed.

A 'friend of a friend' put him in touch with a nefarious, dark-side underworld figure who went by the name of 'Artie.'  Artie explained to the husband that his going price for snuffing out of a spouse was $10,000.

The husband said he was willing to pay that amount but that he wouldn't have any cash on hand until he could collect his wife's insurance money.  Artie insisted on being paid at least something up front, so the man opened his wallet, displaying the single dollar bill that rested inside.

Artie sighed, rolled his eyes and reluctantly agreed to accept the dollar as down payment for the dirty deed.

A few days later, Artie followed the man's wife to the local Costco Warehouse.  There, he surprised her in the produce department and proceeded to strangle her with his gloved hands.  As the poor unsuspecting woman drew her last breath and slumped to the floor, the manager of the produce department stumbled unexpectedly onto the murder scene.

Unwilling to leave any living witnesses behind, ol' Artie had no choice but to strangle the produce manager as well.

However, unknown to Artie, the entire proceedings were captured by the hidden security cameras and observed by the shop's security guard, who immediately called the police.

Artie was caught and arrested before he could even leave the premises.

Under intense questioning at the police station, Artie revealed the whole sordid plan, including his unusual financial arrangements with the hapless husband who was also quickly arrested.

The next day in the newspaper, the headline declared:

ARTIE CHOKES 2 for $1.00 @ Costco

Stay safe and healthy!!
