It was on this day 39 years ago that this man
said ” I DO”
to this lady
We were married in a garden ceremony in the back yard of Connie’s parents home in Bermuda...we had dated a while and I had served ten years in the Police force and Connie had a brother that lived outside of Edmonton Alberta, Canada and he had sponsored us to come and live and work for him.
I was Connie’s third husband and she had two daughters aged 9and 11 years of age...the day after we got married we left to emigrate to a new life in 🇨🇦
The marriage was a mistake and lasted a short time till I divorced her about a year later.
I do not talk about this often but it is a part of my life and I think it changed the course of my life in a good way and is one of the reasons why I am where I am now!!.

That IHOP pancake with fruit and whipped cream looks so yummy! Hope you had one too. Being a country boy in the city, I know you're itching for your hike this weekend.
Beach and I accompanied our next door neighbor (Colonel Ercie J. Leach) to his final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery; Dorrine, his wife, still lives near us in assisted living at age 88; she also will be there when her time comes; each grave is provided a separate section within the grave for the soldier's wife. Ercie in his very young days was one of President Harry S. Truman's helicopter pilots and was in the Korean and Vietnam wars, a 30-year soldier. When sold to the federal government by the Robert E. Lee descendants, the estate at Arlington was about 1,100 acres, so much to see there including the Arlington House/Lee Mansion.
Yes of course I had to have strawberries and crepes...I am looking forward to visiting the cemetery when I drive south..so much history and stories are there..thanks ..have a great weekend les
