We were in for a waterfall morning drive and the first one was Glenn falls...from the parking lot about. 2 km hike down to the amazing falls!!!
Then it was off to Bridal falls, right by the highway!!!
The last one was Dry falls..this was down a few steps and to the falls...
I liked this because you can go behind the falls....
Then we had about a 90 minute drive through the mountains to the town of Asheville North Carolina where we have a room booked close to downtown..
Tonight we are meeting Jake and Annie for dinner..they are the couple that moved here after selling their house in SMA to Gracie!!!

Beautiful waterfalls! Beach and I have not been up to Highlands since 1991 when our son Todd graduated from Clemson University. At that time, there were no boutique shops and Ralph Lauren shops, just local people who rented you a room boarding house style, geode and rock shops, and a barn on Saturday night where you could attend a square dance. And, of course, everything was shut down on Sunday because everyone was in church. You probably went through Clemson, Seneca, Walhalla, and Mountain Rest driving up to Highlands. The town of Clemson IS THE UNIVERSITY; when college students are gone for the summer, the population is very small. By the way, this little town is home to the National Football Champion in the NCAA, no relation to your football which we call soccer.
Hope you have fun in Asheville; you are near the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and the Cherokee Indian Reservation.
You would not known the chic town now very expensive...thanks for the memories lp
