Les, the fawns are beautiful. It looks as though there are so many deer on the island; because of that, it makes me wonder how the deer find enough food to feed themselves. After all, there is substantial human development on the island.
Ok, a serious subject now; have you heard from any friends in San Miguel? The reason I asked is that the US Embassy and its Consulates in Mexico have issued a high alert Level 4 for all their employees and any US citizens still there. I have never seen an alert quite this high for homicide, crime, and kidnapping. For example, for travel to the nice little place of Mazatlan, the Embassy is instructing its employees not to drive there for business; they are only allowed to fly in during the day and overnight in a hotel on the main thoroughfare in the tourist "Golden" zone and not stray onto side streets. From what I am reading regarding many Mexican states, the Embassy wants its employees to not drive barely at all. If you check your Canadian Embassy website for Mexico, see if you are getting a repeat of such a high alert.
The Covid case numbers are leveling out now in SC; but I don't know if that means we truly are not having a case increase now or if the state has stopped testing because it ran out of money. Beach and I can't get a test unless we have symptoms.
This was all deer land before the developers moved in but even now still plenty of green space and of course the plants in the gardens for them to feed...the people in this neighborhood I think love to see them..
My friends in San Miguel are all doing well but they are practicing social distancing and when they go out wear a mask....most of them, myself including are still paying our weekly help their wages but not having them come to the house.....I saw the alert and think it is harsh..of course there are cartel issues especially in the GTO state but hopefully that will slow down...
I keep a close eye on what is going on and will make some choices at the end of this month.....
Glad you and your family are safe. Best wishes les
