Sunday 22nd December 2013…Day 7!!!

Had a good sleep and was awake by 8 am and it was brilliant sunshine and a temperature of about 48 degrees….I went for a short walk funny I live in San Miguel in Mexico and the small town I am staying here

I packed up some lunch and drinks and with my trusty gps found the hike that I had researched about 15 minutes away!!

The park is part of these majestic Organ mountains!!!

I paid my 5 dollars and was on the trail….yes it is what you think it is!!!!!

It is many years since this foot found snow!!!!

It was about 55 degrees but a bit windy and I was well dressed in long pants and a sweat shirt and a winter jacket and gloves and felt toasty and began the hike.

It was a good hike beautiful scenery and well signed and at this point hard to see but a small trickle of a waterfall.

Took another trail past this old mine camp…

I stopped here a while for lunch and was hot and took off down to my pants no one around for me to shock!!!

Then into another small canyon with high cliffs

Then came across the hermit’s cave

I was gone over 3 hours saw no one and had a wonderful relaxing time always enjoy myself out in the wilderness gives me lots of time to think and plan and reflect!!!

Back into town and picked up some groceries to stock the fridge and back home after 6pm.

So here is my home for the next 5 days first the main house

So what does a guy need after two days of long drives….a bit cooler weather….hiking three hours…then shopping

What a tub jets for the back,  bum, knees and feet…..yes!!!

Had some soup for supper got the casita sorted and now going to have some rice pudding and tea……..

Probably none of my business but why leave Mexico when it's Christmas and such a beautiful time to be there?

I have spent the last 15 years in Mexico at Christmas and like every other day it is beautiful but for private reasons it was better for me this year to be on a road trip..cheers les
