I have an Internet friend called Bill who has a great blog that I follow it is www.wanderingwillystravels.blogspot.com

and he came the same route from Vancouver that I have followed and he was on this same hike about 2 weeks ago.  He had a slip and fell a few feet and cut his chin quite badly and when he got to the ruins a Native lady helped him…well this is her Grandmother Winnie…

nov10 069when I told her the story she remembered her Granddaughter telling her about the man who fell.  I gave Winnie a Canadian key chain and also one for her Granddaughter and bought a trinket too…small world!!

The climb up was not too bad and then I was on my way leaving behind all the amazing Canyons and special and wonderful places.

I drove for the rest of the afternoon and I am now in an RV park in an Native Casino just outside of Globe, Arizona.

I don’t normally like RV parks especially the 25 dollars I had to pay but I needed to do some last minute things for Ramona before I head across the border.  So in the morning it is filling up with gas, the cheapest so far at $2.71 a gallon, fill up with propane, empty then fill the fresh water tanks.  Then drive down to Tucson to do some last minute shopping meet up with Teri and her family and then head to Nogales on the US side late tomorrow night and cross over into Mexico bright and early Friday morning.

I will try and post when I can but at this point in time my thinking is to get two or three good long days of driving giving me a couple of beach days before I head into SMA………Best wishes to all.
