WARNING!!!!!!!! JUST DARE MAKE A COMMENT ABOUT THE STUPID LOOK ON MY FACE IN ONE OF THESE SHOTS AND YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF ON THE "BLOG BANNED LIST"
Today I learned that when my guide book says do not try to attempt this trip on your own, much too difficult, take a tour......that you should TAKE A TOUR!!!!
I left home at 8am on a beautiful sunny day in search of adventure and the La Paz Waterfall Gardens, about one hour's drive from San Jose. I will spare you the gory details but I arrived back home at 9.30pm and I think I travelled on at least 8 different buses, hour's of walking and waiting and guiding myself through San Jose at night. Today was the first difficult day I have had and a little bit risky but survived to tell the tale of the waterfalls. I think the pictures almost speak for themselves. To stand close by one of these and to hear the deafening roar, wipe the mist and drops of your face and to imagine the sheer power of nature is a lesson all in it's self. This was a great tour and I love the picture of the monkey and the birds, such vibrant colours. Not a long blog just try and enjoy as I did.
Three things that made the very awkward travel day worth while: 1. On one of the buses I took the driver had the radio on to a Christian channel and the song that was playing when I got on was "Sweet hour of Prayer" my Grandma's absolute favourite, so I knew I was in good hands!!! 2. The area where I was in is noted for it's strawberry fields, so as I was walking one of many miles came across a small store and bought a huge bag for 880 colonies!!!!!! Last and by far the best I was standing waiting for a bus(I think number 7) and there was a couple of ladies also waiting, in the other direction a school bus came and stopped opposite us and in the front looking out of the window was a young boy about 8 years old who was a down syndrome boy, he was looking at the ladies and they waved to him and as the bus pulled away this kid just looked at the lady smiled and blew her a kiss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I so badly wished I could have captured that on film. It reminds me of the time I spent working with the school board and on Fridays I helped with 2 down syndrome boys in the pool, the smiles and joy those kids brought will always stay with me...
This is my last day here at the house tomorrow the owner comes home and on Sunday I leave for the OCEAN!!!! So maybe no blog for a couple of days so please don't think I have been captured by bandito's and taken away to the mountains awaiting a huge ransom......but if that did happen how much would you put up?? I expect at least 12 dollars from ANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The nephew.....have a great weekend hope you enjoyed today's blog!!
