An interesting last day in Barra first of all I walked and took my laundry to my favourite little place and dropped it off. Then I hiked about 2 miles to the highway and made arrangements for Ramona to have a massage and lube make over tomorrow morning came back and packed up and went to the beach for the afternoon. On the way there stopped and watched a crew of over 18 guys pouring concrete. All done by a small mixer and handing up the buckets in a chain gang like fashion, they worked so hard in the heat of the day and notice in one of the photos the gringo supervising in the top left corner with a drink in his hand!!
It was very hot and a little windy at the beach and I read and planned some routes and then watched the activity on the beach. First of all I watched these 4 teenagers, two boys, two girls frolicking in the hard surf they stayed for over one hour and they laughed and played, piggy backed, surfed and then to my amazement when they came out to dry off one of the boys was fitted with an artificial leg. He just did everything his buddy did and had so much fun, how cruel life can be. I did not mention it in my blog yesterday but when I came home from P.V. about 30 minutes out of town on one of the bends there were some kids flagging me down and I slowed and around the bend in my lane was a car on it’s roof with kids crying and screaming around it. Many vehicles had stopped so I did not but it was obvious that this was a very serious accident and it was not a pleasant scene. Just reminds me that our lives can change in an instant.
Went back and collected my laundry, neat how they hang the towels up across the way in an empty lot. For all the laundry 55 pesos, just over 5 dollars.
After Ramona’s make over in the morning I leave for the journey south virtually all the way down the west coast of Mexico before I cross inland. I intend to take my time and stay in Rv parks maybe every other night and see how it goes.
Perhaps I won’t be writing every night and it is amazing Andy (nephew and my computer genius) put a site meter on my blog so I can see the location of the people viewing and how many visitors, so far nearly 500 people have logged in, that is so cool..
Wish all a great week, be safe and happy, blessings and Pura Vida
