Les, it is very bad here in BC. The flooding everywhere has done so much damage. Recovery will be hard. Loss of animal life is unbelievable.
Fuel hopefully will reach people soon. Food is another story as roads, highway and bridges are out. On the island we have areas that are real problems but I think we are less impacted. The Malahat is closed for a week from 6pm to 6am for repair. Then it is alternating one way traffic. The Brentwood bay to Mill Bay ferry ran 24 hours for 2 days to take up the backlog of stranded people trying to get home.
Unbelievable stories of kindness to human kind looking after each other in this crisis.
We are off for our veggie run today so we will see if there has been a run on food. Some say this has already happened. Thursday BC Ferry has a special sailing for our essential services to come to the island with supplies. Anyhow I will keep in touch and let you know how we make out. Cheers, Shelagh
