I think today also goes into the book as a “Wow” day, another beautiful morning and I left Santa Fe and headed out for the mountains and arrived at Bandelier National Park, I decided it was time I bought a years pass which I did for 80 dollars and for one year I now have free access to all National Parks, BLM, corps of engineers and federal land, with all the travelling I intend to do and all the parks I want to see this will be a bargain, already saved the 12 dollars entrance fee it would have cost today. This park is so well set out, wonderfully maintained and you need to google to read all the history regarding the cliff dwellings and the people who occupied them. The tour is self-guided and as you can see you can climb many ladders to actually get into the caves and there you let your imagination run wild. During one of these climbs I met a lovely couple from Connecticut who took pictures of me on the cliff faces and then invited me to join them touring some more ruins at Tsankawi Park, this is a less commercialized setting but just as beautiful and the three of us agreed it was nice to tour these ruins without maps, directions and other tourists, we walked for well over one hour without seeing anyone. Also these caves and grounds were overflowing with pieces of pottery left from all those years ago. It was a really fabulous day so far. Then these great people invited me to go with them to another place they knew about where there were natural hot springs. It was fantastic to soak in natural hot waters and let the energy back into these old bones. Again I have to be thankful to wonderful people who would take me into their world and share, I had a great time with them and the day was a great memory. I have decided to sleep in the van tonight and as I write I am in an Indian casino, just had the best burger and fries for 4 dollars, no Internet so I am writing this in Microsoft words and will copy it onto my blog tomorrow. At the end of the parking lot there is a secure area set aside for motor homes and overnighters and it is 10.15pm and I am tired so hoped you all enjoyed the blog today and those amazing photographs
