You are such a gentleman. That person must know it was unintentional. You are a very tender hearted man. Apologizing to the person is about all you can do. Don't beat yourself up to much.
I read this blog regularly and as someone who doesn't know you from Adam - I know that you didn't do it intentionally and I am sure they do too. Sometimes it takes a little time to come around.
