Friday 16th February 2018....health update!!!

This flu like stuff that I have is hanging around it has been 8 days now so I broke down finally(yes Linda you helped) and went to my Doctor.......

He game me a thorough examination and told me that the whole right side of my chest is congested and now I have drugs!!!!!!!!

I am not good at being sick but I know I must rest and I have cancelled everything again for this weekend and into next week but I am sure the drugs will kick in and do their job!!!

Such a tragic loss of life at another school...seems to easy a solution to ban all automatic rifles to civilians......

Also found out that most airlines now charge up to 100 dollars for a checked bag...I shall be looking for carry on luggage from now on.

Wish you all a great weekend...

Yashi Kochi!!!!!

So glad you went to the doctor (and thank you Linda; you must have convinced Les to do so). The doc probably gave you some strong antibiotics, an expectorant to get that stuff out of your chest, and probably a shot for pneumonia. A little food in your stomach will keep the antibiotic from upsetting your stomach.

You have no idea how lucky we are to live in today's modern medicine. During my life time, I would have been able to enjoy the company of my Grandfather Lewis (my Mother's Father) if the antibiotic we take was available during the flu epidemic of 1918 during which he passed on when my Mother was two months old. I guess that is why Beach and I take the shot each year, but let the pharmacist know what our allergies are so he won't give us the wrong shot. Keep the faith because you will be seeing those tennis courts soon.

Yes, just as Croft wrote me; in essence, the US is going to hell in a hand basket with our children dying because of these stupid guns and lack of immigration protection for the DACA kids. A US Federal Court last Thursday just blocked the current US Administration from deporting these kids for the second time. At least the Judiciary Branch is on their side. There are no practical reasons for anyone in this country to own an AK-47, AR-15, or any automatic or semi-automatic weapons. None whatsoever. Yes, on my families' farms, we do own guns, but they are used for practical reasons, and children are taught to respect them and what they are used for, like shooting large rattle snakes in the corn cribs and coyotes going after the laying hens and the milk cows and venison and wild boar meat for the freezer. Those guns for the farm are mostly single-shot rifles and shot guns.

Thanks for the kind words and I am feeling stronger each day but still taking it easy..it was a flu that took me down for sure.....the gun battle continues to rage on whilst kids are dying so very sad and you say the need for guns I understand the need for these types of weapon I cannot fathom...hope Beach is getting stronger each day after his operation best wishes les

Les, Beach is getting stronger and walking independently, not quickly, but walking nonetheless. Included in the physical therapy is an attempt to get his leg completely straight, and he is about one degree off. The therapist starts by putting ten pounds of weight on the knee, then increasing to 20 pounds, and then to 30 pounds; it is very painful, but she wants him up to 40 pounds. He seems to endure this particular exercise better if he takes a little pain medication. Oh my, what we go through as we age, but we must keep fighting.

Glad to hear Beach's recovery is coming along. Doing the exercises is the thing though. A friend of my brother's had a knee done but skimped on the therapy and never really did get to experience the advantages of the new knee.

Croft, yes, the physical therapy is the key to total recovery after surgery and eventually being able to use the knee at 100 percent. You have to also be psychologically ready to do the work after surgery. My problem with Beach is patience; he wants to believe that all this should be finished up in a couple of weeks, but I keep telling him he needs the patience for the total therapy for at least two more months.
