Monday 15 th November 2021…Revolution Day holiday!!
Mexico’s Revolution Day (Dia de la Revolucion) is a national public holiday that celebrates a 10-year revolution that began in 1910 to end the struggle against dictator José de la Cruz Porfirio Diaz Mori. It is on the third Monday in November, near the official day on November 20.
Is Revolution Day Memorial a Public Holiday?
Revolution Day Memorial is a public holiday. It is a day off for the general population, and schools and most businesses are closed.

Celebrate Revolution Day
Outdoor events such as bazaars, festivals and parades are part of the Revolution Day celebrations, where shouts of “Viva la Revolución!” and “Viva Mexico!” are heard. Stories are told or sung about the revolutionary heroes who ended the struggle and helped to reform Mexico. Festive foods include enchiladas, tostadas, tacos, and fajitas. The Mexican flag – a tricolor of green, white and red with the national coat of arms in the center of the white stripe – is flown on Revolution Day.
Public Life
Revolution Day is a public holiday in Mexico. Banks, schools, government offices and many businesses are closed. Some streets and roads may be closed or restricted in towns and cities to make way for large celebrations. People intending on travelling via public transport in Mexico should check with public transit authorities on any timetable or route changes.
About Revolution Day
The Mexican revolution started in 1910 to get rid of president Porfirio Díaz. He originally tried to revolt against Benito Juárez in 1871, but did not come into power until 1876, when he was president for one month. He was also president from 1877 to 1880, and from 1884 until 1911. While economic growth and modernization occurred, this progress did not filter through to many Mexicans, including labor workers and people in the poorer parts of Mexico. Several key players, including Francisco Madero, organized the revolt against Díaz. Madero was then elected as president in 1911.
November 20 was the original public holiday date for Revolution Day until 2005. A change in Mexico’s labor law instituted that Revolution Day would be a public holiday across the country on the third Monday of November as of 2006.
Did You Know?
A bandit and Robin Hood outlaw named Pancho Villa played an important role in the Mexican revolution. He became a legendary hero not just for robbing the rich and sharing with the poor, but also for leading one of the most crucial military campaigns during the uprising.

Sunday 14th November 2021…my travels!!
I have been in many places, but I've never been in Kahoots. Apparently, you can't go alone. You have to be in Kahoots with someone.
I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there.
I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be
driven there. I have made several trips there, thanks to my children, friends,
family and work.
I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore.
I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit
there too often.
I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.
Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older.
One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin
flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age I need all the stimuli I can get!
I may have been in Continent, but I don't remember what country I was in. It's an age thing. They tell me it is very wet and damp there

Saturday 13 th November 2021…I love this!!
There are four Native American Indian spirituality laws that say nothing happens for no reason in life. When you do understand this, it's very easy to handle and you confidently look at what's happening, thankful for what was there and happy for what's going to happen.
The first law says:
′′ The person you meet is the right one ′′
That is, no one comes into our lives by accident, all the people around us who interact with us, stand for something, either to educate us or to help us in our situation.
The 2th law says:
′′ What happens is the only thing that can happen ′′
Nothing but absolutely nothing of what happens to us could have been different. Not even the most insignificant detail. There just isn't ′′ If I had done it differently... It would have been different..." No, what happens is the only thing that can happen and needs to happen, so we can learn our lessons to get ahead. Everything, yes, every situation that happens to us in life is absolutely perfect, even when our spirit resists our ego and doesn't want to accept it.
The third law says:
′′ Every moment when something starts is the right time ′′
Everything starts at the right time, not sooner or later. When we are ready for something new in our life, it's already there to begin with.
The 4th law says:
′′ What's over is over ′′
It's that simple. When something ends in our life, it serves our development. That's why it's better to let go and move forward, bestowed on the experiences that have now been gained.
I don't think it's a coincidence that you're reading this here. If this text meets you today, it's because you meet the conditions and understand that no rain drop anywhere in the world accidentally falls in the wrong place.
Let it go well...
Love with your whole being...
Being happy without end...
Every day is a happy, happy day.
Stay safe and healthy!!

Friday 12 th November 2021..delivery day!!
Reyes and I did the food delivery today to the village Morelos…..
We had thirty boxes of essential food items, some fruits and veggies and some warm blankets and jackets.
As usual we were greeted with smiles and left with many thanks.
Little Emily loved her blanket and told Reyes that she would not be cold again at night!!!!!!
One of the families were using the old barrel to cook and we told them that next week we would bring them out an Eco friendly stove which would help with the cooking facilities, be more energy efficient and eco friendly and importantly save for the children to be around!!
Always come home feeling humble and blessed.
If you would like to donate cash, unwanted items, warm clothes of blankets please contact me at

Tuesday 9 th November 2021…from the memory banks!!
010
Thursday 9th November 2010…..another WOW day!!
It is now 9pm and I am parked in the camp ground at Canyon de Chelly…
look at all the lovely cottonwood trees and all the empty spaces….here is Ramona and the quarter moon
The drive today was 150 miles through gorgeous countryside
I arrived around 4pm and the first stop was the Visitors Centre where as usual the staff are so friendly and helpful….I had done my homework and knew what I was going to do. Here there are the north and south canyon rim drives each about 39 miles round trip and there is only one trail where you can hike unescorted by a Navajo guide.
The plan was to drive the south rim first then tomorrow the north rim in the morning and then the hike.
The weather was sunny but cool and it is supposed to get really cold tonight.
At the first scenic lookout I found this Navajo artist
I did buy a piece from him
Here is Pete the artist with his Canadian key chain…
Pete took about 10 minutes to explain all the details of my art work everything has a meaning, it was a very cold but educating 10 minutes.
The only problem with the look outs was that most of the informative signs were weather beaten and could not be fully read or photographed.
This was a beautiful drive and the sun was just going down…
The valley looks quite fertile…
The 800 feet Spider woman rock!!!
The sun was setting on the other side so the photos of the canyon were not good…
As soon as the sun went down the temperature went way down too…
The Park is jointly run by the National Parks Service and the Tribal band and it is very well run, clean and no admission charge and the lovely camp ground is free!!!! There are showers, dump stations but they are closed for the winter season but all sites have a picnic table and BBQ pit, what a great treat!!!
I will try and post this when I am on the road tomorrow and this is the end of my Canyon journey and after my hike I do some serious driving and hope to be in Tucson by Thursday where I am meeting Linda and Guy’s ( they are the lovely friends that own the casa in SMA that I shall be baby sitting next month) daughter Teri whose has some items for me to take down to her folks and then perhaps Friday I shall cross the border or if not Saturday.
I have been asked numerous times by friends and people that I meet on the road about the risks of driving in Mexico considering all the drug war stories the media report.
Well of course I cannot deny these happenings but they tend to be centred around the border towns but they have also occurred in other parts of the country as well. False police road blocks and thefts of vehicles and kidnapping…all sorts of things..
My answer is quite involved but yes I shall do some things a little differently this year, absolutely no night driving, staying in more RV parks as opposed to the Pemex gas station, be aware of my surroundings, be alert, I have a wallet with Visa card and small amount of cash in my drivers door ready to hand over and I will not do anything stupid if confronted …act dumb and keep saying Buenos dias!!!!!!!!
I cannot let these stories stop me from what I have come to love and enjoy…my girls, the country, the history, the high regard for family values and the beautiful people…so away I go!!!!
Stay safe and healthy!!
