Sunday 14th March 2021.....just a year ago...

Happy Mother’s Day to my adorable sister in law Janet....today is Mums day in England and I do believe my brother was cooking Janet lunch..

This is what happened one year ago today...interesting my comments about what was going to happen!!!

Saturday 14 th March 2020...Day 31!!

My kind hostess suggested a wonderful waterfall hike to me on way north and  I checked it out and yes..ten waterfalls and you can even go behind a couple of them.

So I left around 8.30 am and drove to the trail head...well almost to the trail head...

This is what I encountered!!

That common sense, which I sometimes lack, kicked in and I stopped turned around and forgo the hike till some other time...

I made it back to the Interstate and for over an hour this was the drive.....

after I passed Portland the snow stopped and eventually it was clear.

Around 4.30pm I checked into my motel in Port Angels, Washington , the room is basic but clean and has all I need.

It is cold outside but I wanted to have a nice dinner and I saw on the way in what looked like a good restaurant and I went back...good choice....I enjoyed my chicken fried dinner with mashed potatoes!!

Now settled in for the night...I have been catching up on the news and things are getting crazy everywhere....I have decided to sit tight for a few days see what develops and then decided about my Europe trip.

I get the 2 pm ferry tomorrow  afternoon from here to Victoria on Vancouver Island and should be with Heather and Kirby by 6 pm mañana!

Saturday 13 th March 2021.....slow and lovely day!!

I was up before the sunrise this morning which does not happen very often but it did give me an opportunity to take these shots..

had a fun time on the tennis courts this morning and in the afternoon  took Frida out for a walk...

The Jacaranda trees and now showing really well..

Soccer game to watch now..

Friday 12 th March 2021....into Centro!!

The balloons were out in numbers this sunny morning.....

I had a lazy morning just doing some house hold chores before going to get Frida....

We walked up into the Centro area and took in some of the sights....

I often marvel at this church and just wonder how a kid from a big steel city in England finished up here...

I bought some ground beef and when I got home made this tasty Shepherd’s pie...

Wednesday 10th March 2021...appointments..

I know I sound like a broken record but every day

is the same sunny and warm cannot remember last time I wore a sweater of long pants .

As I was cleaning my teeth this morning there was a knocking noise coming from the sky light in the shower and I looked up and there was this bird I guess trying to get a piece of food off the glass..too funny.

The balloons were out again this morning..

Today was a day of appointments and my first one was with Sonia who is the lady who helps me with all official documents and I had to re new my driving license which is a bit of a process......but Sonia helped with the documentation and the medical procedure and then I have to meet her tomorrow at the driving licence office to complete the deal.

Then went and picked up another donation to buy a stove for the campo, people are so generous and finally picked up Frida and we had a nice walk....

This is one of my favourite times of the year because the Jacaranda trees are just coming into bloom and they are so vivid and everywhere...

These are just starting to get some color...

Tuesday 9 th March 2021.....here we go again

With tennis the first order of business on this day...we have a great group good fun and some not bad shots once in a while....nice way to start my day.....

Then it was home for some lunch before going to get Frida and take her out for a couple of hours......she is adorable..

Then it was home for a couple of hours of relaxation and then at 5 pm I did something I had not done in over a year.....I went to have dinner at a restaurant.........instead of ordering take out for my usual  Country fried chicken dinner I invited two friends to join me for dinner..

I have know this amazing couple for years now and they are back in Town for a few months...they both have had there two vaccine shots and La Frontera has a large outside patio...it was a great meal thanks for buying guys....and we had a great time catching up.....

Time for the usual evening routine.....

Monday 8th March 2021.....a busy boy!!

Best wishes to all the amazing women out there!!!!!!!

I just read the weather forecast for this week

and I can hardly believe they are expecting temperatures to 

almost hit 100 degrees🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

I was asked if I could sub in for a tennis game this morning and of course I was happy to do this and played with three very gifted women players...had a lot of fun and it was hot!!!

Just had time to get home and changed and then joined another couple for an hour of tennis at a different location.......I had not met this couple before and it is always good to meet new people and I may be able to find some partners for them in the future.

this is not me but it is how I felt!!

Still on the move afterwards I went to pick up Frida...she is really amazing..she greets me the same way every time..tail wagging and want to put her paws very gently on my chest.......we went off into town as I had three donations to pick up....the donations just keep coming in ..this project as far exceeded our expectations..it is so wonderful!!

Finally home and had some soup, and a great shower and now ready to hit that recliner and not move!!!

You can see it was a busy day!!

Sunday 7th March 2021...one year ago....

One year ago today was when it all started...I was in Palm Springs as I was going to be working at the tennis tournament..I had my uniform, the shifts I was working, my parking pass, my food voucher for each day and then WAM!!!!!!!!

Eight hours before my first shift they cancelled the tournament and that was that the start of a Covid year..

A couple of Sunday smiles for you...

Saturday 6th March 2021.... an active day!!

Back on the tennis courts this morning and as always a great two hours of fun in the sun.....

I had time to come home and have a little lunch before Jim and Vic picked me up they wanted to do the hike I did last week.....

Of course I didn’t mind and it was just as  lovely this time..

Jim was taking in the view..

Vic was busy sending up his drone and I have to have drone shots to show you tomorrow..

We were not sure if this was a church or a home...

Now the animals were resting here..

it was a nice afternoon......

Still I wasn’t finished took Frida on a little walk....

Now a shower, dinner and a soccer game....
