Skipped the walk this morning to do some e mails and after breakfast we were packed up and my turn to drive on our adventure to the north of the island.
I have noticed that the parts of the island we have seen so far have been very clean, no garbage around. The roads are narrow and the traffic very light. The tourist season is coming to a close by the end of this month but the weather is great around 78 degrees.
Some of the bells we saw on today’s drive.
We had a great lunch at this charming coastal village.
Some of the felines that roam the streets…
This lady I met in a quaint old village with such narrow roads. This little beauty helped her Mum put the Greek soccer shirt I had just bought into a bag.
Then it was up to the highest mountain on the island. 1000 meters and the views were quite incredible. I didn’t know but Albania at this point is only two miles away across the ocean and you could easily see the towns and mountains there. The Monastery at this summit was just beautiful and these pictures were taken inside , the two murals were actually on the ceiling.
WE did have some fun at one of the beaches and my croc got thrown in the ocean and Sam attempted to help her uncle out in the retrieval but I did end up having my first swim in the Ionian Ocean.
