Sunday 19th April 2015….. a walk in the park…NOT!!!!!

So I was down town at the gas station by 8am where the hiking group meets and Pierre was there and because we have a reputation of doing long and hard hikes no one else wanted to come with us so we set off to go up the mountain…we were heading for the ridge we often go to but by a different route..

XX is where we are heading… a beautiful morning and lots of plant life…

This guy was hard to see and then a few yards later we saw why..he was on guard!!!

It took us just over three and a half hours to get to the summit and it was a tough climb…we enjoyed lunch and some of us were doing this!!!!

We took a different route down and came across this wonderful area

It was a fabulous hike we saw no one and it was serene and beautiful..we were gone nearly 7 hours and we reckon we did about 13 miles and got to 9200 feet sounds high and it is but remember that San Miguel is at 6200 feet.

Stopped at the grocery store and came home and straight into a wonderful Epsom salts bath, then dinner and then watched a great soccer game from England and followed that with another win for my Flames over the Canucks in hockey

Saturday 18th April 2015……you know by now what I do on Saturdays!!!!!

Another great morning and off to play tennis at 9am and as always this is just a perfect way to start the day I love the time on the courts, the people I play with and the fact that I don’t hurt afterwards!!!!

Did some chores in town and then came home and stayed home again….just relaxed some more and did do some house work and then this evening watched a great soccer game from England and now watching the first of two hockey games.

So you see Saturday is sports day!!!

Some piece of news to share that is not good ……I received an email before I went away fro Lotti, who is the counselor that Paola was seeing last year Lotti received a message from Paola's Mum saying that they had moved because of security reasons and that the Mum wanted me to have her cell number so I could call and come and see Paola….the only thing is the number is not in service and I do not know where they have moved to….I have exhausted all avenues to try and find her but with out success…..I will keep on trying though!!!

Friday 17th April 2015…..I hit the wall!!!!

Woke up at 7.30am after a good sleep but I have been bothered every night since I got back by the phone ringing in the middle of the night and then when I stumble to answer it no on there……anyway I felt tired and decided that I needed a day to do very little so I had an appointment down town and then came home and stayed put for the rest of the day.

I did some cooking and then took my lounge chair outside and read and snoozed for a while…then did some cleaning up and some trip planning…had a wonderful soak in the tub…put a nice steak on the BBQ and at 6 o clock settled down to watch a hockey game and now I am waiting for the second game between the Canucks and the Flames..did I mention my Flames won the first game…did you read that CROFT!!!!!!!

So it was an easy day and one I enjoyed…

Thursday 16th April 2015……..back into the routine!!!

Beautiful morning and I had my breakfast outside in the back yard and then rode down to the tennis courts for two hours of great tennis…fun to be back here again!!!

My car has given me such good service that I treated her this afternoon to a spa  treatment..

I then went to visit with Rita and I always enjoy seeing her she is feeling much better than she has been the last few weeks and we had a game of cards and of course I let Rita beat me….not…but she did!

From there I went to my friends Karen and Gregg’s house and the three of us walked into town and they treated me to a wonderful meal…we have been good friends for a few years and they are leaving tomorrow to go back to the Cape  for the summer safe travels and thanks for your friendship!!!

Now almost 11 p m and watching hockey and enjoying a nice  cuppa!!!!

Wednesday 15th April 2015……Home again!!!!

Had a good sleep until 5.30am so got up and got on the road and it was a good drive

Traffic was light and the only thing that happened was I went through three check points and two I was waved right through the third one I was pulled over and given a short search they were obviously looking for drugs as they had mirrors and checked out the engine and under the dash but I had to laugh because one of the soldiers who was searching the car found my tennis racquet and he took it out and pretended to take a couple of swings too funny…a couple of minutes  and I was on my way.

So I arrived home after 975 km in almost 11 hours…thanks to Little Bluey wonderful service and drive!!!

Back home someone was happy to see me…

Those seeds that I planted a while ago and now looking great!!

So now relaxing and you better get used to this…sitting watching a hockey game….tonight is the start of the Stanley Cup play offs so a game almost every night for the next month!!!

Now when I moved to Canada in 1980 and went to my first hockey game I instantly became an Edmonton Oilers and a Gretzky fan and their enemy was the Calgary Flames so you will be surprised when I tell you that although I  have lived on Vancouver island I have never been a Canucks fan so now about to watch the Canucks versus the Flames and as hard as it seems I am saying…”Go Flames”

Tuesday 14th April 2015…Willie would have been proud of me(on the road again!!!!)

Had a good sleep but was awake by 5.30am so I got up fixed my snacks and drinks and was on the road by 6am and saw this

and a short while later arrived at the border

There were no cars in front of me and I took the green arrow nothing to declare lane….at the sign there was a female police officer and I stopped and said “Buenos dias” she smiled and waved me through…do you think she saw my Mexican soccer shirt

The first part of the drive is beautiful through the mountains and a lovely morning and no traffic

I made sure they did not see me taking this shot…

Strange to see a lighthouse so far away from the ocean!!!

Really was an easy drive it was hot but not unbearable and I had plenty to drink some snacks and I stopped when needed and only put gas in once and 830 km and nine and a half hours later I arrived at my hotel the same one I always stay in  here in Jiménez….

The double white xx is my room which is lovely only thing missing is a fridge but I went to the front desk and got some ice…..

I had a long swim and then a long walk around the property……ate some fruit and cereal had a great hot and long shower and now after the blog going to watch a movie on the computer……

So a long but good drive

Another long day  tomorrow and I also loose two hours in the time change but should be home before dark……feels good to be back in México again!!!

Monday 13th April 2015…the journey home begins!!!

Today was back to sunny and warm and I had an easy morning getting my stuff ready and then I went over to say good bye to Linda……I have loved seeing her and Guy and trying to help a little they are wonderful friends of nearly 20 years.

I did some last minute shopping and then set off in the afternoon for a drive here to Sierra Vista

as you can see an easy drive.

I checked into the same motel I used on the way down even got the same room…..saw this rainbow hard to see but it was  almost a double rainbow

All settled in for the night and the crossing of the border and a long drive tomorrow around 850km and then stay again in the same motel I stayed on the way down……

It was a thrill to see Ashley and her family again and to watch her on the courts and then enjoyed my time in Tucson with Linda and Guy and also a big thank you to Denise I stayed in her lovely home 5 nights and the casa is wonderful and she was very kind to me!!!!

Sunday 12th April 2015..an easy day!!!

I felt ok this morning when I woke up just a little tiredness in my legs but otherwise good…the weather changed today and all day it was a lot cooler and dark skies threatening rain but it never did……I had an easy morning with breakfast and doing some planning for the weeks ahead and then around 11 am I went to look at a local farmer’s Market…it was interesting with many vendors!!!

On the way to visit with Guy I snapped these mountain shots a lot different from the blue of yesterday!!!

I had a nice visit with Guy till Linda came then we took him outside on the patio and he had his lunch………..

Linda went and did some errands and I came back put my feet u and watched the final 9 holes of the Master’s golf on Denise's 60 inch TV!!!!!!

Not a bad way to spend the afternoon and tonight I took Linda out for dinner to a Cracker Barrell restaurant and it was a really good meal.

So tomorrow is the start of my journey back to SMA I am going back the same way and even staying in the same two motels as I did when I came and I should be home late Wednesday!!!!
