Tuesday 10th May 2011……..not only is it Daniela’s Birthday but also Edie’s!!!!

So Heather had this brilliant idea for Edie’s 50th Birthday celebration I would drive her to work on Bonita!!!!

That was a lot of fun especially seeing some of the little kids at the school where Edie works!!!

Then did some house chores and then off to the pool and gym for my bike riding and laps and home in time to watch a hockey game and take this photo in the driveway!!!

Heather cooked a lovely supper and I think Edie seen here with her family

had a lovely birthday!!

Edie is a big fan of the hockey player Kyle Wellwood who plays for San Jose and his number is 20…so it was nice of him to send a cake to Edie!!!!!!

Hi, Les!  how are you?  We are fine.  We had a nice class on Wednesday!  When we left Ms. Jose and the teachers gave us little presents for Children´s Day!  We enjoyed some cookies and we took home some other goodies.   Do you have Children´s Day in your country?  If so, what do you do?   How do you celebrate?   And we are curious... when is your birthday?  If it is in April we must tell you "Happy Birthday!!!!!!  We love you and we send you our love with many hugs and kisses.

There was a huge soccer game played yesterday in England that was not on the channel at the house here so my friend Roy recorded the game and invited me over to his house this morning to watch the game.

Roy was very kind he had tea and treats for me and the tea was even served in a tea pot with tea cosy seen here in the photo!!!!

It was a great game thanks Roy!!

Did some running around in the afternoon and then at 5pm watched the Canucks Hockey game.

I reluctantly congratulate them on their victory now I am cheering for either Detroit or San Jose!!!

After the game I went for a long walk in the neighbourhood.  It sure is a beautiful area and Island where I live check out these photos and I counted 21 deer on my walk!!

 

So what is the  answer am I a nut??

Sunday 8th May 2011……a good Mother’s Day!!

Hope all you Mum’s had a wonderful time today with plenty of treats and happy memories.

I really had an easy day went to watch one of Alex’s baseball game this morning here he is about to hit!!

I then went to the gym and rode the bike and then went and swam some laps and the knee is doing great I think tomorrow I shall try my first run and see how it feels.

I promised Heather and the boys I would cook supper for them tonight and happy to say it turned out great the only reason I am saying that is because all their plates were empty so it had to be a good sign!!!!

So another weeks starts tomorrow and I am doing some planning for the big journey  in June…..after  the soccer tournament in Yakima my first stop will be another bucket list strike…Yellowstone Park!!!!

Saturday 7th May 2011…….yes it is still raining!!

Saturday morning so I had to start my day in bed with tea watching a live soccer game from England!!!

Later in the morning I drove Zach out to Qualicum Beach for another golf tournament for him.

On the way back I  stopped in down town where they had the streets blocked off and lots of people around celebrating a chilli cook off and ice sculptor competition….no photos because my battery died in the camera!!!

Did some walking this afternoon and just finished watching my Nashville team beat  the Canucks in the play offs….told you so Croft!!!!!

As it was a sunny morning and I had promised Sara I would cut her grass I went off to Duncan this morning after my physio appointment ( knee doing really well).

The grass was very long and wet

Won’t tell you how many times the lawn mower stalled with the heavy grass but the property looked really good when I had finished…

I think I earned at least a free dinner!!!

Came back in time to get changed and go off to my poker night.

I chronicled how I enjoyed the poker days in SMA well the guys here are great too and we had a good get together as most of us had been away for the winter and my luck continues another big win!!!

4 dollars is a lot of money!!!

Congratulations to the Canucks on their victory tonight I am still cheering for Nashville!!!

Just found out that the reffing I was supposed to do this weekend and next week has been cancelled probably a good thing as the forecast is for rain and it gives my knee longer to recuperate!!!

Wednesday 4th May 2011…little road trip!!

Went to my 9.30am Doctor’s appointment this morning but someone forgot to tell the Doctor.  I had a small card with the time and date of the appointment but I guess the receptionist forgot to enter it in the computer and of course the appointments were all filled so that was a wasted journey and I re-scheduled for two weeks down the road.

I took Ramona on a road trip then to port Alberni

to see my great friends Barb and Paco ……. Paco is my fix it man…so I watched as Paco did a few little jobs on Ramona and Barb made a wonderful lunch and then we talked about Atlantic Canada as they did the same trip that I am going to do in a couple of months……had a great visit thanks!!!

Tonight was a quiet night and yes I watched yet another hockey game!!!

What a treat to wake up to sunshine and an e mail from my girls!!!!

It is so good to hearing from you.  We miss you too!
We came back to English today and we had a nice surprise.  In Mexico we celebrate Children´s Day on April 30th. Our English school gave us goodies and we had a great time in class singing and playing.

Quite a lazy morning watched Ben working out on the trampoline

Then went to the physio again for treatment and she has cleared me to go this weekend and ref some games so that is great news I shall just have to be careful what I do and I think a lot of ice is in the future for my knee but at least there is no pain!!

Came home and watched part of a live soccer game from Spain and here is my friend’s son Luke again commentating..

I then went and picked up Irene and Heather and we took her out for lunch to celebrate her Birthday!!!

Finished off the day by watching the Canucks win a hockey game in overtime…go Nashville!!!!!

Monday 2nd May 2011…this, that and the other!!!!!

So this day 31 years ago I marched down the aisle to the altar and said “I do”…..the next day with my new wife and her two children moved to Canada to a little Ukrainian town called Smoky Lake about 70 miles east of Edmonton, Alberta.

You do the math but I have been divorced since 1984…..

Election day in Canada and I did my civic duty and voted…..

Then went to the pool and did about 20 minutes on the stationary bike and then swam laps….couldn’t helping thinking about Paola and Daniela how they would love the pool and the water slides…

Went and had tea with Inga and we caught up on our times since Mexico…

Tonight I was chef and cooked a good English supper of Bangers and Mash, with peas and mushrooms…..must say it tasted pretty good and all the plates were empty.

Watched another great hockey game and there you have it another day gone by!!!

Sunday 1st May 2011…..take me out to the ball park!!!

Had a really  easy day went to my friend Irene’s house this morning to wish her a happy 86th Birthday!!!

Then went to the ball park to watch the middle son Alex play ball!!!

Alex is No.26

They played hard during a double header but unfortunately lost both games…

Did some errands and I took  Bonita out it was good to be on the scooter again.

Heather cooked a lovely supper and you guessed it I watched another hockey game.
