Strange how it happens but woke us this morning and felt lonely and sad and unable to put my finger why…I feel healthy, the weather is fabulous and I am having a wonderful time but there it was and the feelings stayed with me most of the day.
This is my 136th day on the road and only the second time I have felt this way so not complaining just really sharing some personal feelings here. Maybe the sadness I felt affected the day I had I don’t know but I drove out to Oatman, recommended in the guide book, as an Old west town with burros in the street and on the famous route 66 highway.
Well I thought it was a tacky little tourist town and only stayed a few minutes and the burros were in the hills.
Then drove to Laughlin, Nevada where I am parked for the night and again I find this place to be dreary and just a street with 7 big money grabbing casinos, the salvation here is that the strip is located on the Colorado river.
Boy do I sound so negative…tomorrow I leave in the morning for the Valley of Fire State Park about 40 miles from Vegas and I am going to stay there two nights and do some hiking. Will be out of Internet service till I get into Vegas on Wednesday so will update the blog then.
Time for tea and going to sit outside it is such a beautiful evening and the sky is so clear and the moon is like a sliver, so pretty. Promise to be happier next time, take care blessings..
