DAY 2!!!!

My first beach sleep was a good one I was a little worried that the waves might keep me awake but that was not the case I slept really well......

I just had a very leisurely morning reading, having breakfast and enjoying my balcony and the view...I never see anyone on the beach!!

My hostess Cynthia had arranged for a local guide to come and meet me and I met Boli, a really sharp young Mexican whose English is as good as mine.....he is going to come back tomorrow and pick me up at 9 am and we are off for about 6 hours into places not normally seen by tourists...I do not have any expectations but will wait for the day to unfold........

I then took my laptop into the small village to the one and only Internet shop but was told I could not use my own computer they had 20 computers in the store but only 4 for Internet the rest were being used by local kids playing very noisy and violent video games.....I thought I would be able to use my smart phone or my Internet stick to connect but I was not able to.....so the blog will have to wait till I get back to SMA on Sunday then there will be 5 days for your reading pleasure......

It was noon by the time I got home and packed lots of drinks and put on my hiking shoes to get down the cliff and off to the surfing beach Nexpa 6 km walk away on the beach....

Check out the house the big white one in the middle!!

Having my feet in the ocean and the sand was soft and wonderful....

Here is the only surfer looking for a wave that never came...

I had lunch and then a dip not really a swim as the waves although not too big but there was a serious undertow...

This is one ugly Turkey vulture I believe!!!

Looking back to the lagoon that flows into the ocean...

It was a great walk and really hot and glad I brought lots to drink....

Back at the casita I relaxed and read and then did my exercises and 5 Tibetan rites on the deck whilst the sun was setting!!!!
A lovely warm and relaxing shower and then another one of the meals I had brought with me and now enjoying my music..a great ocean breeze and writing this blog!!!

Life is a beach at least today it was!!!

DAY 3!!!!

I have figured out why I am sleeping so well

My bedroom is above the Virgin Mary!!!!

Had another usual lovely breakfast on the deck with this view...

At 9 am Bola my guide for the day showed up and away we went....he is a young Mexican man who has lived in the States for 14 years, speaks great English and after a few minutes he was proud to show me photos of his wife and two small children.

He obviously knew the area well having been born and raised in the town.
The first stop was here..

We met the worker and he explained the pattern of the turtles returning at night to the same beach where they were hatched to lay their eggs ..in the morning the eggs are collected and numbered and dated and placed in a safe compound before being released back to the ocean about 60 days later. The survival rate is one in ten!!!!

This reminds me of a little town called Maruta another 100 km north of here I went there about 8 years ago in the Motor home and met and stayed with my friends Paula and Jerry...the town is known for the turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs....we stayed up way past midnight most nights but did not see any but the last morning we went for a long walk on the beach early in the morning and Paula spotted this huge turtle about 150 feet from the ocean just laying there.......we assumed that she had been digging holes and laying eggs all night and was too exhausted to make the walk back to the ocean..so Jerry and I got on either side of her and carried her, she was heavy, down to the water put her in and so happy to see her swim away.....Paula took a photo off us doing this and I have it framed and always will remember that moment how many people can say they have done that????

Next stop was off the beaten track to a small village..here is Bola on the left buying some fruit....

We parked and hiked about 20 minutes up the mountain with great views to a lovely waterfall and pool.....Bola told me in the rainy season December the falls are flowing fast and this is a very popular area for the kids to swim!!!

He then stopped to show me his cousin's kids..we shared a bag of carrots!!!!

Bola told me that he head wanted to take me to a farm where there are hot springs but he was told there were three military road blocks and he did not want to go through them so we came back to the next town Nexpa, where I walked to on the beach yesterday.....he showed me where I can rent a kayak and float down the river and lagoon and I am going to do that tomorrow....he also showed me a shack on the beach where I could get a massage and I have booked one tomorrow morning for 90 minutes...massage on the beach does it get any better???

On the way back into town he told me to pull over and we got out and he said do you see the face??

I did right away and he told me it has no name just the face!! I told him no he should start to call the face after the person it looks like, anybody agree with me?? Charles De gaulle!!!!

I spent 4 hours with Bola and it was a really great time seeing things I would otherwise not seen.

After lunch I packed up some drinks and walked into town.....the main attractive square

Do not think I shall buy any beef here!!!

The local church!!

Finally down to the beautiful bay!!

Lots of restaurants but nobody around!!

I walked to the very end then turned around and walked back and just about in the middle found some shade and went swimming....

oh the water feels so good...,..then my Mexican roots took over and I had a short siesta before going back swimming!!!

Another lovely sunset from my bedroom window...

and after a luxurious shower and a light supper I watched a movie in the living room and now 10 pm and writing this....

A day to remember!!!

Yashi Kochi!!

DAY 4!!!!

Broken record I know but had a great sleep although I did wake up at 5 am to go you know where and the sight out of my window was wonderful even though the photos do not the sight justice.....the moon was bright and shining a path right into my room it seemed!!!

Enjoyed my breakfast took a shower and then drove back to Nexpa, the surfing beach, for my ninety minute massage....

Never know what you might meet on the roads in Mexico!!!!

Adrianna looked to be about 18 years old but she had a young son and she was a very professional and great masseuse and the time was heavenly and just what I needed...600 pesos again such a bargain!!!

I then relaxed on the beach watching the surfers the waves were much bigger than the last time I was here!!

My zoom managed this action shot!!

Then it was to the restaurant that rented out kayaks and I took one for three hours for 100 pesos and I set sail into the lagoon looking for the crocs!!!! Yes I was told there are crocodiles in the lagoon!!!!

Enjoy the photos unfortunately or maybe fortunately no sightings of the big one!!!

Went under the main highway....

so pleasant and serene and I pulled into some rocks and had lunch!!!

I thought about taking the kayak into the ocean but came to my senses and returned to the restaurant....

I Was home for around 4pm and just made some tea and out onto my deck with my book......

Did my exercises again by the pool watching the sun set and after a shower and dinner settled down and watched a movie on the big screen and already 10.30 pm and I am writing this....

I have thoroughly enjoyed my relaxing days here and being by the ocean is a wonderful way to spend a few days!!
