For any new readers my Mum used to tell me that if I said the above the first thing on a new month it would bring good luck for that month and I have been saying it for nearly 45 years and look how lucky I am!!!!
Had a great sleep these local New Zealander’s know what a comfy bed is…..had a slow and easy breakfast and was on the road by 9am……the intention was to drive the coastal road up to Dunedin where I have an airbnb place booked.
I took my time and investigated all the sights starting with
a short walk to a pretty reflective lake.
A few miles down the road
An easy stroll to a quaint fall
This piece of history was next
The next stretch of 10 km to the Nugget point lighthouse was one of the most scenic drives I have taken…here is your chance to drive it too…..
So not bed eh????
Then it was back onto the main road and to Dunedin airport where there is a Juicy car rental depot.
When I picked up the car on Saturday I was not happy with it…too big, too noisy and the drivers seat very uncomfortable and no way to adjust it. I went back the next day but they had no other vehicles to exchange but said if I was near another rental office they may be able to help. I was not particularly happy with this service but no amount of demanding was going to get me another car.
So I found out there is an agency here and I stopped in. The young guy behind the counter listened to my story and said No problem I have the car for you…..and he did. Just exchanged my stuff and five minutes later I was on my way a very happy man in
Having trouble with a name but decided upon “Tamaiti puru” which is Maori for blue baby!!!
At 4pm I was at my cabin where I met the lovely owner Leigh who lives in this 1890 heritage home
