My camera decided to have a senior moment and I cannot get it to work, anoth 95 page manual for me to read tonight, so sorry no photos just the wonderful words that I spew on here....WHAT A DAY!!!!!!!!! I left Nanaimo on the earlt ferry to spend the day looking at motor homes in the States then driving to Yakima tonight in time for my weekend of soccer game starting in the morning. I am actually in Yakima now and have to tell you about the kindness of these American people yet again. It is 9pm and I go to the YMCA (always want to sing that song YMCA) I digress..I go in and a lovely young lady behind the counter tells me they close in 20 minutes but I have time for a shower. Get my stuff from the van and go back in sign up and she said no charge, we are almost closing and a big smile!!! I thank her give her one of the 50 cent Canadian key chains from the dollar store and you would think I had given her a Cadillac, such nice kind people. Anyway back to motor homes...I stopped in about 6 delaerships and the next one I FOUND IT!!!!!!!! It is exactly what I want and my camera defunct....anyway I spent 5 hours here looking at it, sitting in it, pretend sleeping in it, driving it, get the picture. I believe in karma and if this motor home is meant for me it will be. The salesman was an Englishman ( A car salesman and English!!!!what a threat!!) he was good no pressure and I left telling him that I would call him tomorrow and tell him yes and try and get a deposit to him and worry about getting it across the border next week. The only thing that can go wrong is that someone else can come along anytime plonk down cash and it is theirs!!! Let that be as it may....so wanted to share this good news and of course Will keep you posted.....

Sorry I had intial troubles posting this and then it came out twice...
This photo was sent to me by my nephew and is a photo taken yesterday of one of the streets in his home town. When I was in England last year we walked down this street on out way to a soccer game. England is suffering from some horrendous floods...
This crazy world wide weather is continuing. this was taken yesterday at my brother's home town in England. We walked this street when I was there last year to get to the football stadium, INCREDIBLE!!!!

Here I am in sunny Kelowna, spent yesterday at about 7 different motor home dealerships and got completely overloaded.....I really have to think about what kind of motor home will suit my needs the best. Where I am staying is about 3 miles from the college campus and I am biking backwards and forwards there and the middle picture is of the river I ride past, very pretty. So far the courses have been very informative and I am learning lots of pertinent information. The bottom picture is taken on campus where I was having my lunch. Hope you all (see I still speak Texan!!!) have a great weekend...

For my older readers a tip to keep healthy!!!!!!!

Just came across this exercise suggested for
older adults, to build muscle strength in the arms and shoulders. It
seems
so easy, so I thought I'd pass it on to some of my friends. The article
suggested doing it three days a week.
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of
room at
each side. With a 5-lb potato sack in each hand, extend your arms
straight
out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to
reach a
full minute, and then relax.
Each day, you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit
longer.
After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato sacks. Then try 50-lb
potato sacks and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a
100-lb
potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a
full
minute. (I'm at this level).
After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each of the
sacks.

To those of you who presumed I had fallen into the big abyss, I am still alive and kicking, the soccer ball that is!!!! Had a fairly quiet week doing some odd jobs and trying to make the sun shine. I leave on Friday for Kelowna to attend three days of school, the classes are all related to motor homes, looking forward to learning as much as I can, also a great treat to be able to stay with my friends. For my regular readers you re-call when I stayed with these same friends last month I was "volunteered" into grunt work building a side walk, well I have been assured that there are no bricks within 25 miles of his property!!!!! This photo is of my trip last winter just wanted to remind you all of what I am looking forward to...Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there....

Well I don't think there is any part of my body that doesn't hurt!!!!!! One of my goals a few years ago when I was still actively playing soccer was to try and win a medal at the B.C. senior games, which this year are being held here in Nanaimo in September. The first try out for the team was held today in Qualicum and I decided I would go and see how my legs held out, having not kicked a ball in nearly 7 years. Very happy to say that I survived with out pulling or breaking anything and actually felt pretty good and still had a little skill left in my old bones. The try outs go on for a couple of months so I intend to keep going and try to make the team, I just don't want to interfere with my reffing. I enjoyed the game this morning and although a little sore, will be alright. Sorry no pictures to prove I was there, have a great day everyone...
