So this day 31 years ago I marched down the aisle to the altar and said “I do”…..the next day with my new wife and her two children moved to Canada to a little Ukrainian town called Smoky Lake about 70 miles east of Edmonton, Alberta.
You do the math but I have been divorced since 1984…..
Election day in Canada and I did my civic duty and voted…..
Then went to the pool and did about 20 minutes on the stationary bike and then swam laps….couldn’t helping thinking about Paola and Daniela how they would love the pool and the water slides…
Went and had tea with Inga and we caught up on our times since Mexico…
Tonight I was chef and cooked a good English supper of Bangers and Mash, with peas and mushrooms…..must say it tasted pretty good and all the plates were empty.
Watched another great hockey game and there you have it another day gone by!!!

You were not far from where I worked in Wandering River, AB. I was there in the winter of 76 or 78. It was a gas station / coffee shop and a six room motel at the time. Going to the "Big City" was a trip to St. Paul.
I was on loan from BC Tel to Alberta Government Telephones at the time. They thought I had some expertise in the 46A Carrier system and sent me out to help/teach the AGT guys about it. I damn near froze my ass off!
Yes 14 winters was enough for me but the people were so nice...
I often drove through Smokey Lake on my way to Edmonton from St. Paul, Alberta, on good old Highway 28. Yep, I grew up in St. Paul, left there to attend university in the USA, and never returned. I do have plenty of family there though so I do visit there in the summer months. Agree with Mexicokid that people are nice.
