Well I better finish yesterday’s blog I took my friend Croft’s advice and bought a new scan disk 16GB for 12 dollars and I did manage to download the photos from yesterday so here is the mighty Colorado…
Last night’s motel I like that I can park right outside the room!!!
and the round bed…a first!!!!
This is the place I drove and hiked around last evening.
Wonderful rock formations and like an artist’s dream for the colors!!!
This one looks like it should be in Rome!!!
I am so glad I decided to walk down the scruffy main street otherwise I would not have seen the mural telling me about this creation of the earth's elements!!!
My new rain coat and back pack!!
The pack will get the test tomorrow!!
Had a good sleep but I am still not over the time changes as I am waking up at 6am every morning but that is OK.
Today was going to be my shortest drive 475 km and I headed for the town of Oakhurst 15 miles outside the Yosemite gate…on the way my trusty GpS guided me to two of my fave stores Trader Joe’s and Wal-Mart and I bought some food and supplies and arrived at my destination around 2pm.
I had booked this place on the airbnb site and it was a 30 foot trailer in the grounds of a lovely home and my hostess Dawn arrived about the same time I did she showed me around the trailer which is so lovely.
So this is my home for the next three nights and I have named her Ramona 2!!!!
I unpacked and I had already stopped in at the visitors center and got some maps and some advice from the two ladies there and around 3.30pm I set out to cross off another from my bucket list Yosemite!!!
Well I want to offer my faithful readers a special deal……I am prepared to offer the now famous Pearson tour of Yosemite for a donation…because todays tour is only half day I am offering it for 5 dollars….tomorrow a full day tour is if you purchase both day 1 and day 2 special price of 10 dollars and if you take the max 3 days you get this for the unbelievable price of 15 dollars what savings and just send the money to my Nanaimo address!!!!
So here we go Yosemite!!!!
Went on a trail first through these amazing trees!!!!
A few places still had snow but the weather was beautiful and I was hiking in shorts and took my shirt off!!!
Bottom To
I love this next shot…I saw a Buddhist monk sitting on top of this tree and what captions you could put to this photograph!!!!
It is hard to capture the majesty of these giants in the shot below see my water bottle!!!
My next stop was about 4 miles inside the park!!
I followed a trail into the forest and I could hear the charging water and soon came upon these fast flowing falls!!
I like this one below can you see the moon!!!
Little Bluey was not happy being left next to the this peculiar white stuff on the ground!!
I think I hiked around 8 miles and did not get back to Ramona 2 till 8pm ..it was good after two hard driving days to stretch out and walk but also the smell and feel of the forests was wonderful.
I had a good supper and a good shower and cannot believe it is now 11.30pm.
I have a big day of hiking planned tomorrow and the forecast is for 74 degrees.
Yashi Kochi!!!

Don't throw that old card away, les. Put it into the camera and see if you can format it there. If not, plug it into the computer and format it. Here are some instructions:
