This is a shot of Sara having breakfast at the B & B yesterday…….
We left Cambridge around 10am and on our way to London stopped to see this delightful Abbey
Back on the road again and by 2pm we had found our home for the next 2 nights…
Our room is on the top floor on the right in the corner. Sara found this place on the internet and it is lovely, very nice room and facilities and only 69 pounds about 110 dollars!! Incredible value for London..it is a Golf club and although we won’t have time to use the hot pool and spa a full English breakfast is included in the price.
The start of the golf course..
This is baby Ramona, our transportation for the week…this was my Dad’s car, he bought it new when he was 85 years old!!! Now it belongs to Janet who was so kind to loan it to us….
At 4pm we took the free shuttle bus to East Croydon station as we had theatre tickets booked. One thing we didn’t know was how we would get to the city centre but it could not have been easier or cheaper. For 12 dollars each round trip return we took the train to Victoria Station where with Sara’s guidance we got on the London Tube
to the next station where we changed lines and one more stop found us at Piccadilly Station.
We walked around for a couple of hours and saw these happy group of Argentinean soccer supporters…
I had been really good in keeping the name of the show a surprise from Sara but the moment had come and as you can see from above we were right outside the theatre showing Mamma Mia!!!!
Words cannot describe this show all I can say is that it goes on our list of incredible concerts we have been lucky enough to attend. Anyone ever in London put this show on your to see list!!!!!!!!!
After the show the streets were alive with buskers
and scores of people from every walk of life and country.
The ride home again was so easy and by 11.30pm we were having tea in our room…..a wonderful day.
It is now 7.30am and we are just going down for breakfast and this is the day I have been waiting for we are off to Wimbledon!!!!! If I have checked the schedule correctly during the day we will see three seeded players…a lady called Kim Clijsters, a grand slam holder Australian Leyton Hewett and some old guy called….FEDERER!!!!!!
I will have to sneak out to the embankment at 3pm to watch the England soccer game otherwise look for us on Number 1 court!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
