Woke up yesterday morning to the “real” English weather….I did my walk at 8am and in the hour it took I experienced cold dark clouds, a biting wind, howling rain and sunny periods!!
After a wonderful full English breakfast, thanks Janet, we went to Beverley the next town where we had full day passes for the annual Folk festival.
The town was alive with people everywhere these dancers were performing on the main street.
We arrived at the venue for the festival which was located at the Leisure centre and it was very well organized with different tents set up and lots of local acts to choose from. The weather was so very cold and we felt sorry for the people staying here..
During the day we saw about 6 different act and the majority of them were excellent.
This man was particularly funny as he sang, read poems and puns!!
For supper this was our choice….
The evening concert was inside, thank goodness, and consisted of three main acts this was the first one which both Sara and I did not care for.
A funky rock and roll type band from New York.
These great musicians entertained and had the kids in the aisles with their vibrant sounds.
The closing group was a combination of incredible vocals, thrilling dancers and had the crowds were rocking in their seats.
The walk back to the car took us past the beautiful Minster..
It was a great day we didn’t get back till 11.30pm just a few minutes to spare before the Malc imposed curfew!!!!
Received from my cousin Shelia it is a photo of my three third cousins…Charlotte, Brooke and Lexie…so cute!!!!!!!
P.S.
Malc pointed out to me that I had the score wrong with the England soccer team yesterday, they failed to score and the final score was 0 - 0
