As we were leaving the spectacular B & b yesterday morning the owner told us that the farmer next door was sheep shearing and we should stop by.
So we did and he was very friendly and told us that he raised these kind of sheep.
They were of Dutch origin and they were sheared every 11 months.
I have never seen this before and found it fascinating.
Sara offered the farmer 10 pounds for him to give me a haircut but thankfully he declined!!!
We were still travelling south along these very narrow roads.
Every so often we would come along beautiful beaches
Or stunning head lands.
At the birthplace of King Arthur we declined the castle tour but this was rather neat.
More great vistas
and now we were at our furthest point south the town of Rock.
Here we took the small passenger ferry over to Padstow.
It is interesting how the boat owners just leave their boats and they are at the whim of the tides as to how and when they can use them.
As we were in Cornwall it was appropriate for us to sample the famous local Cornish Pasty…
I think approval is given here don’t you??
We decided because of time restraints that we would turn around and slowly head back home and we started looking for a place to stay.
This town appealed to us and after walking around these grounds
I enquired about B & B’s and was given an address about 5 miles out of town and off we went and found our place for the night another converted old barn.
Very nicely styled and furnished.
Check those legs!!!!
So whilst Sara read the paper and ate fresh strawberries and clotted cream
I had to yet again sacrifice……
Sara went out and took these photos at dusk.
Another great breakfast this morning and we will be on our way soon.
The plan is to drive north till about 3pm when we have to stop find a pub with a wide screen TV so we can watch the live World Cup soccer game between England and Germany….then spend the night and be home again on Monday…..not a bad life!!!
