Les, I'm playing catch-up reading again. A few of your photos, like the ones overlooking foggy cliffs and the graves in the churchyard, could be used as scenes in many Victorian novels I've read. When you happened upon the mama cow and baby calves, I noticed the mama cow was marked on her rear with a bright color; I've noticed that in a few other photos you've taken of other cows and sheep. Is that the way the owners' determine which animals belong to them while the animals are grazing? Of course, you already know that here in the states we brand cattle by using a hot branding iron or by notching the animal's ears which is inhumane. Just love your "Tarzan and Jane" photos!! Hope you enjoyed your "two scoops" of ice cream, the best way to cool down in the heat other than a wade or swim in the brooks or streams in your photos.

You probably already know this, but when you return to the states, you will notice large crowds conducting protests; today there are thousands protesting from the east coast to the west coast regarding the issue of immigrants (seeking asylum from certain Cental American countries) and being separated from their children at the US border. The US Courts have already spoken, and it is ordered that these children must be reunited with their parents by a July 26, 2018. I can vision Trump writing to the Judge, "So sue me."

I wish I could say our elections were as simple as that! 1) He did not win the popular vote nationwide; he lost that vote, I believe, by approximately three million votes; 2) During the eight years (two terms) of the Obama Administration, the Democratic Party was not keeping their eyes on the ball; in each individual state, a lot of gerrymandering (redrawing of voting lines, also known as redistricting) was going on by smart Republicans to gather together or "control" as many votes in their party within the redrawn lines of a particular district; why does that matter? Because the ultimate decision of an election is decided by the Electoral College; this group is chosen in each state based on the district (discussed above) and a particular state's population; therefore, all states do not have the same number of Electoral College votes to cast; California has the most representative votes in the Electoral College; 3) the Trump campaign hired a large number of mathematical wizards to direct the on-the-road campaign to those states which were likely to garner the most Electoral College votes based on the redrawing of those district lines and the demographics of the population, in explanation, people who had lost their jobs due to industries closing and being moved abroad and coal mine closings; he baited those people promising they would get their jobs back; 4) interference in the election by trained technicians backed by Russia. I'm about to lose power, so I will close here.
