My lovely Mum would have been 94 years young today…she was the best, no need for any other words…Love you!!!
Here she is helping me celebrate my first day as a Copper!!!!
Well today was a full, busy and very interesting day….it started with a wake up call at 7.15am and went down for breakfast which was not too bad and then at 8.30am we met in the lobby and with our wonderful guide away we went..join along no charge!!!!!
There are so many fairy chimney stacks and caves everywhere you look!!!
Anybody see a camel??
We then stopped at a pottery factory and it was interesting to see the intricate work of the craftsman!!
he then picked Caroline out of our group to make something…
Apricots drying on the street….after lunch we stopped at a government carpet factory and I learned so much about carpets and haggling…
one carpet can take anywhere from 3 months to one year to complete and the same lady works only on that one carpet!!!
I went with Angela and her husband Slavac into this room as they were interested in buying a carpet….a hard sell the price started at 6500 Lira and down to 4500 Lira as they walked out without buying!!
Angela, the souvenir lady and Caroline at the top of the rocks by the church!!
It was a great but long day we didn’t get back to the hotel till 6pm and then it was dinner time and then off to the Turkish folk lore night.
This also was a great evening and a late night almost midnight before we got home. It is great that there are only 7 of us on the tour we get to know each other and have a lot of fun.
Well I have to go to bed because I am getting a wake up call at 4.30am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is he getting that call you are asking???
Sorry will have to wait till tomorrow night!!!!
