A good English phrase to mean, speechless, awe inspiring and amazing!!!!! This is how I felt about today!!!
I left my camp site around 8am it goes without saying now that I had a good quiet sleep..
a few miles later I came to
I had done some homework on how to spend the whole day here and I first stopped at the Visitors Centre to make sure my plans would work…it was lovely warm and sunny!!!
My first view…
The plan was to hike to the bottom on the canyon and this is the first trail I took..
Just sit back and enjoy these amazing photos…
How are you enjoying this so far???
You can see I enjoy this new format
You can see that I met a few other hikers on the trail, not many though!!
At this point I took another trail and went into the bottom of the canyon around 900 feet down I think!!!
Time for some refreshments!!!!
This was about the end of the hike which was about 4 miles and at this elevation 8000 feet a bit hard on the accent!!
The next part of the afternoon was to take the scenic 17 mile drive…all the stops are on the left side going up so I decided to drive to the end first and do the stops on the way back…..so here is the end!!!
There is a 1 mile hike here and I don’t think I have ever hiked at this altitude fortunately the trail was relatively easy…
To end the little show this photo above is at…
It was a most memorable day….one thing that I am surprised at is that in the days I have been on the road I have seen no wild life at all!!! I saw more in the back yard at the Bank in Nanaimo…
I came back to the Visitors Centre and saw a very informative movie on the canyon and I am now going back to the same spot I stayed in last night for a good dinner and get cleaned up and watch a movie!!!!
Anotheroff the Bucket List……
