First of all I want to pay a tribute to all the men and women of all our great countries who have given up their lives for us in all the wars around the world….God Bless you.
It is now Wednesday evening and we are settled into an RV park in Cannon Beach, Oregon. I have been without Internet for two days so some catching up to do.
Back to Tuesday morning and spending the day with Ann. She proved to be an excellent tour guide and we were treated to a visit to Snoqualmie Falls about 30 miles from Seattle.
These falls were in full surge and I was surprised to find out they drop about 270 feet, a clear 100 feet higher than Niagara falls!!
We then went on a tour of the area and found many interesting landmarks.
Found this sign in a local coffee shop.
Note the spelling!!!
We then came to down town Seattle and the famous Pike Market.
It was lovely to see the sights and smell the different aromas of all the varied fruits, vegetables and fish.
Thanks Ann for a great tour which finished up at a local winery…sadly we had to leave and drive into the centre of Seattle at rush hour traffic time. With Ann’s great directions and Sara’s great communication skills and directions(Is that enough praise yet to forget the earlier comments I made?) we made the trip in about 35 minutes.
We had a special evening planned tickets for the Celtic Thunder.
It was quite amazing that in a huge city centre we were able to find a parking lot where we could stay the night and only be a few minutes walk from the concert hall.
All I can really say about the concert was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!
So well performed and just an incredible blend of voices, instruments and audience participation……
We then spent the night in the parking lot with a view of the Seattle Space Needle.
This morning we woke up to sunshine!!!! I know I don’t have to mention this too often!!!!
We started our journey south and stopped at this great bird sanctuary for lunch.
We soon crossed over into Oregon
and saw many logging companies
as we crossed the bridge over the mighty Columbia river.
Sara took this neat photo
We are now parked at the RV park in Cannon Beach and we took a drive down to the ocean before we came here and will start our morning with a walk on the beach.
Day 4 and it as been a really good journey so far with lots of laughs and good times although there is one minor problem.
Ever since the concert last night and Sara saw Kevin, the cute blond, she is swooning like a teen ager.
I think she has read the program at least 30 times today, don’t know what to do any advice out there??
Wish you all a great evening…
