Sunday 15th November 2009…in the Redwoods

We left Corning yesterday after a stop at the Olive Pit.  This is supposed to be the Olive Capitol of the west and I never knew there were so many different kinds of products associated with olives.

As is the norm these days,  here is Sara buying olives with my money,  which I lost in a scrabble game wager the night before!!!

Drove over 400 miles and we arrived at another of Sara’s friends yesterday afternoon.  They live in the Redwoods in a quaint town called Mill Valley and it is only 20 miles from San Francisco.

The area around here is very narrow and we knew parking Ramona would be a problem.  As we were trying to figure out what to do the owner of a near by house came out and offered her drive way for us to park in.  This was a very kind gesture which we were happy to accept.

Today went for a walk in a lovely park very close to the house and this afternoon attended a performance of the Sound of Music, our friend’s daughter was in the cast.

So another great day comes to an end.  Tomorrow we start our long journey towards the Mexican border and then down the coast.
