Friday 12th January 2018....bit of a change up!!!

I do not normally play tennis on Friday but I have been invited to a doubles game at 4 pm so I look forward to that.....

After breakfast this morning decided to take a stroll in and around through town it finished up as a 12 km hike but I enjoyed seeing things that I do not normally see......

Enjoy the walk with me...

This is an area where some of the local ladies come and wash their clothes in natural spring water those are individual stalls for washing!!
Rare to see a street without a car...
A few years ago I did an entire blog post on door knobs..I like this one!!

Not many people know about this place because the door is always locked but not today...if you speak Spanish you know the answer but if not what is behind this red door???

The bull ring is used once every couple of months..I went once years ago and never again!!!!

There are over 50 churches around town some very lovely but this is one of my favorites..I just love the bells.....
Let's take a closer look!!!
Right outside I often try to get inside the church and hopefully climb to the roof but it is never open and today was no exception!!
The beautiful central church towers above everything and can be seen from all over town!!!

Let sleeping dogs lie!!
I know these buses are important to the locals and used often but they are a scourge in the downtown with the small streets!!!!
Took 20 minutes bought and read the local newspaper!!!
A good 12 km warm up for my tennis match!!

I was home in time for this live soccer game from England...of special interest to me because it is live from Sheffield the city i called home and grew up in(I know Shelia I was born in Doncaster)...
My dream as a kid growing up was to don the red and white shirt of the Blades
as opposed to the blue Owls....

I was never good enough to make the team but when I was a young Police Officer I did do crowd control duty and so did manage to step onto the field of play!!!!

It was a great game and I enjoyed watching..

Went to tennis and it was a good game with different opponents and I managed to hold my own..

So a pretty full and interesting day...hope yours was too!!!

One day, I hope, Beach and I will get to visit San Miguel after we complete our surgeries. Les, you will have to recommend some good boutique hotels convenient to the Cathedral on the plaza and restaurants. And, of course, we would have to visit Delores Hidalgo. Such a lovely place with a small town atmosphere; hope San Miguel never loses that quality.

Excuse my lack of knowledge of the area, but what does GTO represent? Is GTO the same city which you took a friend to a medical clinic a few years ago? If it is the same city, I think I remember a few beautiful photos and rave reviews from you.
