I had a great sleep and woke up to sunny skies and about the same temperatures as SMA.
The RV park is very large in a great setting. In my opinion this is one of the nicest parks I have stayed in anywhere. All the facilities are first class, the owners very kind and helpful and obviously very proud of their park and the surrounding areas. It is also one of the cheapest parks I have stayed in. Perhaps the only negative is there is no Internet, but the small Internet cafes in town are close by.
I ran and walked some laps around the perimeter and then treated myself to the now World Famous Pearson scrambled eggs. Packed up lunch and headed out on the scooter on an adventure.
The park is about 2km from
and about 6km from
Mexico has designated about 34 towns as Pueblos Magicos and I have been to a few of them and Mazamitla is another one.
I started my journey in Valle de Juarez and took a paved road going up towards the mountains.
Soon the view back into the valley was impressive.
The road now was gravel
As I mentioned yesterday in some tourist books this area is referred to as the Swiss Alps of Mexico and it is true. I could smell the forest and the pine cones were huge!!
On a slow day I will write about the time I was a rancher and owned 5 cows…..anyway always had an affection for those animals since..
Even the cow bells which I HAVE seen in Switzerland as a young kid!!
See Heather I DO wear my helmet..
I was soon coming down the other side and into the really quaint town of Mazamilta and their impressive Orient flavoured church.
The local square was so pleasant.
The inside of the church was also very beautiful!
This is in memory of my dear old Dad!!!
When he used to go on his adventure travels he always took his favourite backpack and where ever he hiked he always placed the back pack down and took a photo of it.
Here is my lunch pack and the bench in the square where I had lunch!!
Two old characters…
This is a great little town and could easily be a favourite.
As there is no Internet in the RV park so I am going into Valle de Juarez later this afternoon to post this and then explore that town.
Hope you enjoyed the trip today!!!!!!
Countdown is on Sara…14 days!!
