Sara leaves on Monday morning to fly to Iskut for work.
Iskut is located at around the B above in British so you can see it is a long way from Vancouver.
My plan is Tuesday to drive north of Vancouver Island to Port Hardy, on the top of the red above.
Then take a 15 hour ferry to Prince Rupert, just right of the word Queen in Queen Charlotte Islands.
Then about a 9 hour drive up to Iskut.
So it will be a long but beautiful drive. The guide books that i have read describe this part of BC as the Grand Canyon of Canada. It is very remote and will be a good challenge for Ramona and me…..more later about this trip.

I was going to chip in and say your estimate of 9 hours drive from Prince Rupert to Iskut is very optimistic but that is what Google Maps says as well. I still think it will take you much longer than that - maybe double. There will be some gravel and construction this time of year. It will be a wonderful trip though!
Just a tip: Gas stations are spread out in the north so the general rule is, if you pass a gas station with half a tank left, fill up. Also, make sure your spare tire is good. Take it down and check the pressure.
Think about buying a copy of The Milepost. It covers the area you are traveling as well.
