It was mainly toll roads and I made good time but I did have a little issue going through Chihuahua…I had noticed 4 Transit police had pulled vehicles over in different areas but as I was approaching an intersection with traffic lights I saw a Transit van and here the traffic lights when they are going to change flash green for 2 seconds then go to red.  Well I was almost at the intersection which was a big one when the green light flashed…there was a car right on my tail and I decided to go through and of course by the time I got through the end of the intersection it was showing red….The move I made was completely safe and I thought the best choice….obviously the officer did not because he immediately followed me and put on his flashing lights and pulled me over.  He came to me and the first thing he did was shake my hand…in the past when stopped I always thought speaking no Spanish was the best way to go but this time I tried to talk to him…I know he was telling me that I had gone through a red light and I explained that first of all I was very sorry but it changed just as I was going through and that I thought it better to go rather than stop quickly with the vehicle right  behind me…he smiled at me shook me hand again I wished  him Merry Christmas and I was on my way!!!

A good drive right to the border and then the QUEUE started…I really thought the border crossing would be busy with Mexicans returning home for the holidays and it was hundreds of vehicles coming into Mexico what I did not realize that it was the same going the other way….I had to wait three, yes three hours!!!!

I had originally booked a casita of a main house in a small town called..guess what…San Miguel!!!  The owner of the house Frances and I communicated by e mail and I was to arrive Sunday afternoon but I knew a couple of days ago I would be here Saturday so I e mailed Frances to see if the room was available tonight but unfortunately she has friends staying there tonight but she invited me to sleep in her small travel trailer in the yard tonight…so I am.

Ramona days are back…it is comfy and warm and I move into my room tomorrow.

Frances and her friends invited me to the main house for supper and it was very nice and then they said they were going to the theatre to see a movie and would I like to come so I did.

It was at the oldest theatre in New Mexico very quaint!!
