This morning Sara took me on a walking tour of the town starting at the river where she used to play which is about 100 yards from the house…
From there we went into town and passed the school that is named after Sara’s Grand Dad!!!
Next is the biggest mural in Western Canada!!!
Main Street…
The Fort..
In the afternoon the 3 of us drove about 20 minutes to this place…
It is worth a Google search to read all the fascinating history…..the centre was very well laid out the film on the story of the area really interesting…I enjoyed hearing about the name but not the end result….apparently a young native boy was at the bottom of the cliff waiting for the action to start and when the buffalo started jumping off the cliff there were many more than expected and he unfortunately was crushed under the onslaught and died…
The vast plains…
The cliff face…
Sara’s Mum spotted this little guy he looks big but really was very small…
Sara and Mum…
It really was a very informative and great afternoon. After dropping Sara’s Mum back at home we drove the 50 km to lethbridge and I met Grandma Gracie…..98 years young ..we just visited for a few minutes but are going back tomorrow for a longer visit, she seems like a real fun gal!!!!
We are now Sara’s sisters house Larraine and Clancy are great hosts and we are staying here for a few nights….I am meeting so many relatives and I think I am attaining the passing grade of B +…..
